Two rows behind me on the plane a few days ago… Woman dressed in an expensive cream colored, cable-front, angora turtle neck sweater and, well let’s just say, pants I wouldn’t have chosen. Man of indeterminate age, demeanor, and sartorial propensity across the aisle from her (and behind me, so I never saw him). Conversation overheard as [...] I visited the mother ship on Saturday night: the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. It was a toe-tapping, finger-snapping good time! As I plan a jungle vacation, I keep reading references to howler monkeys and the “cacophonous cries” that will be the soundtrack to the trip. Then I found a recording of their howls online. Whoa. Gray day. Winter light. Whoever invented the car radio is a genius. I love to drive and a lot of that involves the radio (and singing along to all the songs I know).
